TESDA TRAINING REGULATIONS

Qualification: Agarwood Farming NC II
Sector: Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery

1. QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

Agarwood Farming NC II equips learners with skilled competencies in full-cycle agarwood production, including plantation establishment, resin induction (inoculation), harvesting, post-harvest handling, grading, and ethical trade compliance.

2. JOB ROLES / OCCUPATIONAL TITLES

  • Agarwood Farm Worker – Skilled
  • Plantation Technician
  • Resin Induction Assistant
  • Harvesting Supervisor (entry-level)
  • Post-Harvest Handling Technician

3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of Agarwood Farming NC I or equivalent experience
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • Physically fit for farm operations

5. TRAINING DELIVERY

  • Modular, competency-based

7. ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS

  • Competency-based assessment conducted by TESDA-accredited Assessors
  • Methods: Written/oral tests, practical demonstrations, observation checklists, portfolio of farm and harvest records

8. TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS

  • TESDA-certified Trainer (NTTC II recommended)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in agarwood or tree-crop farming
  • Knowledgeable in DENR and DA regulations and ethical sourcing standards

9. TRAINING FACILITIES AND TOOLS

Facilities: Classroom, nursery and plantation areas, demonstration plots
Tools/Equipment: Hand tools, pruning tools, PPE, irrigation and watering systems, inoculation kits, grading and storage materials, record-keeping forms

10. CERTIFICATION

  • National Certificate Level II (NC II) – Agarwood Farming
  • Issued by TESDA upon successful assessment

11. PROGRESSION PATHWAY

  • NC II → NC III
  • Prepares graduates for supervisory, quality assurance, and farm management roles
