Program Rationale

The Agarwood Beads & Jewelry Crafting Workshop is designed to support livelihood generation, MSME development, and cultural craft preservation through value-added utilization of agarwood. While existing TESDA qualifications focus primarily on metal-based jewelry fabrication, this program addresses a recognized skills gap by introducing wood- and resin-based artisan jewelry competencies, aligned with sustainable and creative industry priorities.

The program contributes directly to TESDA’s mandate on inclusive growth, green skills, creative industries, and community-based training, particularly for rural artisans and resource-based communities.


Program Outcomes

Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

  • Apply TESDA-mandated basic and common workplace competencies
  • Safely prepare and handle agarwood materials and tools
  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish agarwood beads and jewelry products
  • Apply quality standards and aroma-preservation techniques
  • Package and present agarwood jewelry for market readiness

  • Bridging Option: Partial competency credit toward Jewelry Making NC II through TESDA-accredited assessment centers

Trainer and Facility Compliance

  • Trainers may be NC II / NC III holders or qualified industry practitioners with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience
  • Facilities comply with OHS requirements and are equipped for artisan jewelry craft training
