TESDA TRAINING REGULATIONS

Qualification: Agarwood Farming NC III
Sector: Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery
Sub-sector: Non-Timber Forest Products / High-Value Tree Crops

1. QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

Agarwood Farming NC III equips learners with supervisory, quality assurance, and managerial competencies. It includes supervising plantation operations, advanced post-harvest handling, quality control, compliance with legal and ethical standards, and mentoring NC I–II workers.

2. JOB ROLES / OCCUPATIONAL TITLES

  • Plantation Supervisor (Agarwood)
  • Quality Assurance Officer
  • Farm Manager (Smallholder or Cooperative)
  • Technical Trainer / Mentor
  • Compliance & Traceability Officer

3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of Agarwood Farming NC II
  • Minimum 2 years field experience in agarwood or related tree crop management
  • Knowledge of DENR, DA, and CITES regulations

4. UNIT OF COMPETENCY

8. TRAINER QUALIFICATIONS

9. TRAINING FACILITIES AND TOOLS

Facilities: Classroom, nursery, plantation demonstration plots, post-harvest processing areas
Tools/Equipment: Farm machinery, pruning and cutting tools, PPE, drying racks, grading tools, record-keeping systems

10. CERTIFICATION

  • National Certificate Level III (NC III) – Agarwood Farming
  • Issued by TESDA upon successful assessment

11. PROGRESSION PATHWAY

  • NC III prepares graduates for supervisory, QA, and managerial roles
  • Can advance to specialized technical, farm management, or entrepreneurial roles within the agarwood industry
